What a great film. And timely — it was released in 1947. (Plus: Gregory Peck’s a reporter.)

1942 • Roy Rogers and the Sons of the Pioneers. Whatever happened to singing cowboys?

1943 • A cute (and short) musical. It seems ripe for a remake.

Seems about time for a western. Complete with out-of-date humor and fancy college talk.

1953 • Girls are silly. I’m afraid they haven’t changed much since 1953, but the number of oil barons certainly has.
