Many fans connect Sean Astin with his role in “The Lord of the Rings” movies, but the versatile actor has tackled a variety of roles.

Astin kicked off his Wizard World St. Louis Comic Con Q&A session Saturday by asking the audience if they were fans of the “Rings” movies and “Goonies.”

Astin grew up in California, which nearly provided a St. Louis connection.

After that detour, Astin shared stories from and answered questions about various movies and projects; “Lord of the Rings” was the most popular.
