Someone fetch the smelling salts

The problem with the great outdoors is the biting bugs. For some reason they all really like to bite me — especially mosquitoes.

When I was in the fifth grade, I had a mosquito bite on the back of my leg. Not usual. But it was very, very itchy. I scratched it until it bled.

I scratched it until blood was running down my leg.

I scratched it until I saw blood running down my leg, and passed out.

I scratched it until I saw blood running down my leg and passed out, falling about an inch shy of cracking my head open on the bathtub, which would have caused more blood and mayhem.

Since then, I try to avoid mosquitoes, the sight of my own blood and falling on bathtubs.

When we were visiting the family mansion Sunday (pictures are coming, I swear) something buggy bit my leg. It really itches. I’m really trying to keep from scratching it and passing out in a puddle of blood at work.
