News that Stephen Colbert will take over for “Late Night” host David Letterman in 2015 had many talking Thursday, including St. Louis Mayor Francis Slay.

As a handful of folks pointed out, St. Louis has a weekly late-night talk show, “STL Up Late.”

Season 2 of “STL Up Late” debuts Saturday with Scott Carey of Sump Coffee and Scarlet Tanager; tickets are available.

You also may remember “STL Up Late” from its Michael Sam parody.

St. Louis mayor celebrates birthday with cake, tweets

St. Louis Mayor Francis Slay celebrated his 59th birthday Tuesday with ice cream, cake and, of course, tweets.

Maggie Crane is the mayor’s communications director; Jeff Rainford is his chief of staff. Slay has been mayor since April 2001.
