Flash flooding causes problems throughout the area

Heavy rain Tuesday afternoon caused flash flooding across Warren, St. Charles and St. Louis counties.

A flash flood is caused when water rises rapidly in low-lying areas. The National Weather Service advises pedestrians and drives to “turn around, don’t drown” — people often underestimate the water’s depth and current.

O’Fallon, Mo., and St. Paul were hardest hit by flash flooding Tuesday.

A lot of people were angry that KSDK covered tornado watches Saturday afternoon, instead of airing the Belmont Stakes pre-show. Note that each of these tweets was sent at least 30 minutes before the Belmont Stakes race started — the race aired without interruption. Here’s a sample of what they had to say.
