Journalists share how to deal with online harassment

Online News Association sponsored a conversation about online harassment Wednesday night in New York. Slate staff writer Amanda Hess, Essence Magazine contributing writer Zerlina Maxwell, New Republic senior editor Jamil Smith and Fast Company writer Sarah Kessler shared their experiences and advice on dealing with and addressing harassment.

Delmar Loop comic shop to close

Star Clipper’s announced on Thursday that the shop will close next month. The 27-year-old Delmar Loop comic shop will begin liquidating its inventory Saturday.

Star Clipper fans took to social media to share their memories of the shop.

Also on Thursday, Blue Bird Apparel announced it would close its Delmar Loop location.

Hashtag tweaks book titles to add Ferguson references

Similar to hashtag games on Comedy Central’s “@Midnight,” a small but passionate group tweeted Ferguson book titles Friday.

Unlike previous hashtags, like #FergusonReads, that collected and shared published work related to events in Ferguson, #FergusonBooks rewrote known book titles to add a nod to the death of Mike Brown and recent events in the town.

The #FergusonBooks hashtag has not yet gained enough traction to trend on Twitter.
